PositiveMagnetism is a web-supported HIV disclosure service

Welcome! PositiveMagnetism is a senior capstone project from the University of Washington Information School. We are focused on designing a web and mobile-supported technology that will help facilitate the process of disclosing one's HIV status.

This website serves as a way to document our progress toward designing the best disclosure technology possible. If you want to get in touch about the project or to just say hi, please contact us!

Our Objective

To design an e-disclosure technology that will use digital media to incorporate the sender's sentiments with the real facts and prevention tips regarding HIV. PositiveMagnetism e-disclosure will be viewed as a flash animated e-card. The e-card would allow the sender to input personalized text and video to convey her or his message to the recipient.

Our Goals

1. Promote knowledge and awareness between potentially magnetic partners.

2. Combat stigma, myths and misinformation by presenting evidence-based facts regarding HIV/AIDS

3. Promote prevention and sexual education

4. Provide a secure, time-sensitive, personalized disclosure environment

Our Strategy

We're using a "feet on the ground" approach - meeting with researchers, activists, and those most affected by HIV/AIDS to design the disclosure technology in the most effective, value-sensitive, and informative manner.
